The transition toward renewable energy has become a global priority due to increasing energy demand, climate change, and the need for sustainable development. India has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing renewable energy markets, with ambitious national targets for clean energy deployment and carbon emission reduction. This review investigates the role of renewable energy in promoting sustainable socio-economic development in remote regions of Jaisalmer. It examines how decentralized renewable energy technologies, including solar photovoltaic systems, wind farms, hybrid renewable systems, and emerging green hydrogen initiatives, contribute to improving livelihoods, strengthening educational infrastructure, supporting healthcare services, enhancing agricultural productivity, and reducing rural poverty. The study also reviews recent government initiatives such as the National Solar Mission, PM-KUSUM, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy, highlighting their influence on rural development.
