Which opportunities do extended education offers provide for socially disadvantaged adolescents?
Is it possible to reach socially disadvantaged adolescents with offers such as sports clubs, music schools, or work groups at an all-day school to offer them better prospects for the future? Which parameters and contents are essential?
The international symposium on educational research is centered on these types of questions. Prof. Dr. Ludwig Stecher and PD Dr. Sabine Maschke, chair for empirical educational research at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (JLU), are hosting the conference together with colleagues from the university of Cologne (Prof. Jutta Ecarius), and the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) in Frankfurt a. M. (Prof. Eckhard Klieme). In the course of the conference educational researchers will deal with the correlation between extended education and social inequality.
The conference will take place in English on
May 13 and 14, 2013
at Rauischholzhausen Castle
located in the Ebsdorfergrund near Giessen.
